In keeping with PCVI’s goal of offering the most modern technology to help us achieve the best possible outcomes for patients, PCVI is happy to share that we have recently acquired the ZEISS MEL-90 excimer laser (replacing our previous MEL-80 laser).
Key advances include:
– Laser pulses at 500 times/second – twice the prior laser’s speed, allowing for much faster treatments and less time the patient is under the laser and has to stay still
– Tracking at 1050 times/second – more than twice the prior laser’s tracking rate, enabling the laser computer to follow the patient’s eye’s micromotions
– Treatment at 0.01 D increments – the other modern lasers treat at 0.25 D increments; this feature enable much more precise treatment targeting to achieve a patient’s visual goals
We want our laser vision corrections to achieve vision safely, rapidly, painlessly, and with a fast recovery. The Zeiss MEL-90 helps us advance the care of our LASIK patients in Eugene/Springfield and the rest of Oregon.
