Oculoplastic Surgery

Pacific ClearVision Institute provides effective eyelid surgeries for both medical and cosmetic purposes. As skin ages, it begins to gradually lose some of its elasticity. This natural process, coupled with the continual pull from gravity, can occasionally cause excessive skin to collect on the lower and upper eyelids. Often this causes little more than an undesirable appearance, hence the reason many opt to have eyelid surgery for cosmetic reasons. However, occasionally eyelids can begin drooping (a condition medically termed “Ptosis”) in such a way that they can hinder good vision. Therefore, eyelid surgery in some cases can become medically necessary.
Eyelid surgery also referred to as an “eye lift” or blepharoplasty, successfully reduces bagginess from lower eyelids and removes excess skin from the upper eyelids.

Eyelid Ptosis

The eyelid lift procedure helps patients suffering with Ptosis, a condition affecting the muscle that lifts the eyelid, resulting in eyelid drooping and vision problems. There are many causes of eyelid ptosis including age, congenital issues, muscle or nerve disorders, and injury. Ptosis can be caused by age related stretch of the muscle, trauma, neurologic problems, or at birth.
